Privacy Policy
Effective November 6, 2026
Paywrench (“Paywrench,” “we,” “us”) helps contractors and small businesses send invoices, take online payments and send automatic payment reminders. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to paywrench.com, the Paywrench app, and the invoice pages and emails we send.
Who this policy covers
- Customers: businesses and people who create a Paywrench account (“you”).
- Your clients: the people and companies you send invoices and reminders to through Paywrench.
- Visitors: anyone who visits our website.
When you add your clients’ information to Paywrench, you decide what to collect and why, and we handle it on your behalf to provide the service. If you are one of our customers’ clients and have a question about an invoice or your information, please contact the business that sent it to you. You can also reach us at hello@paywrench.com.
Information we collect
Account information. Your email address, password (stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider; we never see it), business name, and any profile details you add, such as your name, phone number, business address, license number and payment instructions.
Client and invoice information you enter. Client names, contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses and notes; invoice details such as job names, line items, amounts, due dates and notes; and your reminder wording and settings.
Payment information. Online card and bank payments are processed by Stripe. Card and bank account numbers go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers. We receive and keep limited details such as your connected Stripe account ID, whether payments are enabled, payment status and amounts, and your subscription plan and status.
Messages and activity. A log of the invoices and reminders sent, payments recorded and delivery errors. When you use the in-app Help assistant or contact support, we keep your questions, the assistant’s replies and your support requests, plus a daily count of assistant messages.
Technical information. Basic information your browser sends, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, which our hosting provider records in server logs. We use cookies to keep you signed in. Our public website may use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our advertising; it is not used inside the signed-in app or on invoice pages.
How we use information
- To run Paywrench: create your account, store your clients and invoices, and send the invoices and reminders you set up.
- To let your clients view and pay invoices online, and to update invoices when they are paid.
- To manage your free trial and subscription, and to process billing.
- To answer your questions through the Help assistant and support.
- To send you service messages, such as account, security and billing notices.
- To keep Paywrench secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how people find and use Paywrench, and to improve it.
We do not sell your personal information or your clients’ information, and we do not use your clients’ information to market to them.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Paywrench, and only as needed for them to do that work:
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Vercel: website and app hosting.
- Stripe: card and bank payments, and subscription billing.
- Resend: sending invoice, reminder and account emails.
- Anthropic: the AI model that powers the in-app Help assistant. Your question and a summary of the relevant account information are sent to it to generate an answer.
- Meta: advertising measurement on our public website only.
When you connect a Stripe account, your use of Stripe is also governed by Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of Paywrench, our customers or others, or as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
How long we keep information
We keep your account, client and invoice information for as long as your account is open, so your records stay available to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information within 30 days, except where we need to keep certain records, such as payment and billing records, to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations. Copies in backups are overwritten on a regular schedule.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Each customer’s data is kept separate with database access rules, so one customer cannot see another’s records. Payment details are handled by Stripe, which is certified to the highest payment-industry security standard. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can see and edit your business details, clients and invoices in the app at any time.
- Copy or deletion: email hello@paywrench.com to request a copy of your information or to delete your account and its data.
- Emails: invoice and reminder emails are sent by our customers to their own clients. Clients who want them to stop should contact the business that sent them. You can pause reminders on any invoice in the app.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will need them to stay signed in.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. To make a request, email hello@paywrench.com. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
Children
Paywrench is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Where information is stored
Paywrench is based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Paywrench changes. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and if the changes are significant, we will let account holders know by email or in the app before they take effect.
