Terms of Service
Effective November 6, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Paywrench (“Paywrench,” “we,” “us”) and apply when you use paywrench.com and the Paywrench app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using Paywrench for a company, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to do so.
1. What Paywrench does
Paywrench lets you create and email invoices, let your clients pay online through Stripe, send automatic payment reminders, and track what you are owed. Paywrench is a software tool. We are not a bank, payment processor, collection agency or law firm, we do not hold your money, and we are not a party to the agreements between you and your clients.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and use Paywrench for business purposes.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity in your account, and you should tell us right away at hello@paywrench.com if you think someone else has used it.
3. Free trial, plans and billing
- New accounts start with a free trial. No card is needed to start, and reminders pause when the trial ends unless you choose a plan.
- Current plans: Starter at $15/month; Pro at $29/month. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any taxes that may apply.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can change plans, update your card or cancel at any time in Settings. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. We do not give refunds for partial months, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, we may pause reminders or limit your account until it is resolved.
- We may change our prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
4. Getting paid through Stripe
To accept card or bank payments from your clients, you connect your own Stripe account. Payments go from your clients to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to your bank. Your use of Stripe is governed by Stripe’s own agreements, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, and Stripe’s processing fees apply. Stripe, not Paywrench, decides whether to approve your account, and handles payouts, refunds, disputes and chargebacks. You are responsible for refunds and disputes with your clients.
5. Your responsibilities when sending invoices and reminders
You are the sender of the invoices and reminders you set up in Paywrench, and you are responsible for them. You agree that:
- You will invoice only for real work or sales you provided, and the amounts, due dates and details are accurate.
- You will contact only your own clients, who have a business relationship with you and gave you their contact details.
- You will use Paywrench only to collect money owed to you or your business, not to collect debts for anyone else.
- Any late fees, interest and reminder wording you use comply with your agreements with your clients and the laws that apply to you, including consumer protection, debt collection, email and anti-harassment laws.
- You will stop or pause reminders when a client asks you to or when the law requires it, and mark invoices paid when you are paid another way.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use Paywrench to:
- send spam, threats or harassment, or impersonate anyone;
- send invoices for illegal goods or services, or for fraud;
- upload viruses or try to break, overload or get around the security of the Service;
- access other customers’ data, or copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service;
- break any law.
We may suspend or limit your account if we reasonably believe you are breaking these rules or putting others at risk.
7. Your data
You own the information you put into Paywrench, including your client and invoice records. You give us permission to store, process and send it only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to give us your clients’ information for this purpose. You can ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted at any time by emailing hello@paywrench.com.
8. The Help assistant
Paywrench includes an AI Help assistant that answers questions about using the app and your account. It can make mistakes, so check important details yourself. It does not give legal, tax or financial advice, and you should not rely on it for those. You can always reach a person through Contact support.
9. Our property
Paywrench, including its software, design, text and logos, belongs to us. These terms give you a limited right to use the Service for your business while your account is in good standing; they do not give you any ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Paywrench running and your emails going out, but we do not promise the Service will always be available, error-free or that every email will be delivered, since delivery also depends on email providers and your clients’ settings. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you in advance.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Paywrench does not guarantee that your clients will pay you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Paywrench will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
13. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Paywrench harmless from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your invoices, reminders, late fees or dealings with your clients, your misuse of the Service, or your breaking these terms or the law.
14. Ending your account
You can stop using Paywrench and cancel your plan at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice where possible and a chance to download your records. Sections 5, 7 and 9 through 15 continue to apply after your account ends.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute arises, please email hello@paywrench.com first so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and Paywrench agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and if the changes are significant, we will notify account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Paywrench after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
